Cheer up, "Screen on the Green" mourners. There are still places to see outdoor movies in the area.
Introduction
This week,聽D.C.聽moviegoers were shocked by the news that HBO and Comcast are 聽“Screen on the Green,” bringing an abrupt end to a 17-year summer tradition on the National Mall.
“HBO is very proud of our 17 years of Screen on the Green on the Mall,” HBO said in a statement. “Unfortunately, this year we have decided to move on and place our resources elsewhere.”

But keep your chins up, moviegoers. We’ll all get through this summer together.
There are still plenty of places to watch聽outdoor movies in the D.C. area.
“The children of Screen on the Green will continue on in our neighborhoods,” Rauch said.
