WASHINGTON – A boil water advisory has been lifted for residents of Culpeper County in Virginia.
The advisory was in effect after a 12-inch water main failed Monday on Blue Ridge Avenue in the town of Culpeper. Officials say test results received Thursday morning from two water samplings showed no harmful bacteria or organisms in the town’s water system.
The advisory affected the south end of the town and adjacent areas in the county.
Chris Hively, the town’s director of environmental services, says officials do not know what caused the water main to rupture and are continuing to investigate.
